A Launcher That Rewards Rhythm

Hoop Launch Challenge hands the player one job: release the mechanical launcher at the precise instant the moving ball is positioned to reach the hoop. There is no aim stick, no power meter, and no spin control. The trajectory is decided entirely by when the player lets go. That constraint is the whole design. Misses are not random; they are early or late, and the difference between the two becomes readable after a few attempts. [IMG_1]

Mission Mode Layouts

Mission Mode strings together levels that each introduce a new configuration. Some stages use moving hoops, others add barriers or angled surfaces that change how the ball must arrive. Because the launcher behavior stays consistent, the challenge shifts to reading each layout and adjusting the release window. Difficulty rises gradually, and clearing a level unlocks the next, so progress is visible rather than implied.

Endless Mode as Practice

Endless Mode removes the level structure. Players keep shooting until a miss ends the run, chasing a higher score across repeated attempts. With no fail state tied to a specific stage, this mode works as low-pressure repetition for building muscle memory and testing release timings that would be risky in Mission Mode. The running score gives immediate feedback on whether a change helped. [IMG_2]

Presentation Built for Clarity

Simple shapes, bright colors, and an uncluttered court keep attention on the ball's path. Audio is minimal: a satisfying cue for a made shot and a soft thud for a miss. The physics read naturally as the ball arcs toward the rim. Nothing on screen competes with the timing window, which is the point.
